1. Masonry Fundamentals Course: 
Open to everyone interested in taking a second career or just interested in learning the basics of masonry. Ontario Masonry Training Center is pleased to partner with Conestoga College to offer this 16 week full-time program. To learn more, please visit their website or contact Abby at 519 748 5220 x 2400.
Start Date: May 2013 in Mississauga Campus (Class Cancelled)

2. Pre-Apprenticeship Program: 
(Free! Fully funded by the Government of Ontario)

Open to everyone
 interested in learning the basic skills of being a bricklayer. It is a stepping stone into the Apprenticeship program. To learn more, please contact our office today!
Start Date: March 25, 2013 in Mississauga Campus - CLASS IS FULL!

3. Optional Fee Paying Courses:
The Ontario Masonry Training Centre would like to consider offering fee paying courses for the following (Courses will run based on demand):

The approximate costs for these courses are $1500 - $2500 per course/level. Duration of courses will be from 2 - 8 weeks (Full Time).

  • Restoration course
  • Refractory course
  • Hardscaping/Landscaping
  • Introduction to Masonry

We will also consider running 1-5 day seminars on the following:

  • Fireplace*
  • Chimneys*
  • Stone*
  • Restoration*
  • Brick/Stone Replacement*
  • Cut out & Repointing of mortar*

* The approximate costs for these courses are $300 - $750. The prerequisite for these courses will be 3-4 years of masonry experience.

4. Safety Related Courses: (1-3 day duration)
(Courses will run based on demand)

  • Basic Health & Safety Training
  • Fall Protection/Working at Heights Training
  • Propane Training
  • WHMIS Training
  • KLIMER Training
  • Forklift Training
  • Hoisting & Rigging
  • Suspended Access

The approximate costs for the courses range from $150 - $350.

5. Apprenticeship Program:
Must be a registered apprentice with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) to enroll in this program.

To become a registered apprentice, you must have an employer or sponsor do the registration process with the ministry. Once registered, apprentice can enroll for their in-school training here at OMTC.

Individuals from provinces other than Ontario should contact their provincial chapter of the Canadian Masonry Contractors' Association (CMCA) for information on apprenticeship training.
