The Ontario Masonry Contractors' Association (OMCA) was established in 1972 to represent contractors who specialize in the installation of masonry units and also manufacturers, suppliers, and dealers who are involved with masonry materials, equipment, and accessories.
OMCA's functions include:
- Managing labour relations for contractor members with both Bricklayers and Labourers unions including handling the affairs of MIECO, the Designated Brick Employer Bargaining Agency.
- Promoting masonry construction in Ontario by initiating and supporting promotional and research programs.
- Training (See Ontario Masonry Training Centre)
Since its inception, the Ontario Masonry Contractors’ Association (OMCA) has been proactive in seeking new and innovative methods of masonry construction while building a reputation of quality and responsibility. We continue to build partnerships with leading masonry product manufacturers and suppliers who believe in the value of quality masonry construction. As a proud chapter of the Canadian Masonry Contractors’ Association, OMCA is committed to our part in revitalizing the masonry industry across Canada. OMCA’s commitment to education is a key element in the promotion of masonry construction in the marketplace. Current initiatives towards these efforts focus on apprenticeship training via our support of the Ontario Masonry Training Centre, management safety programs via OMCA’s WSIB Safety Group, engineered masonry design via the Canada Masonry Design Centre and McMaster University's Centre for the Effective Design of Strutures, and promotion of Quality Assurance programs and life long learning for owners and supervisory staff. OMCA is proud to be an ISO 9001 certified organization. Build it better! Build it with masonry!
