Over the past few years CMCA has established a strategic path of renewal and revitalization and has recently received grant approval from Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) for the formation and implementation of the Canadian Masonry Human Resources Committee (CMHRC) involving labour and management from across Canada as well as the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA).

The mandate of this new entity is clear and concise; to move forward on the key initiatives outlined in the July 2000 labour market analysis report. "Canadians Building Canada: Performance Through Partnership", particularly in the development of a national core curriculum for apprenticeship training for the Bricklaying Trade and in raising the business acumen and abilities of our contractor members.

CMCA is truly excited about the opportunity of working with the CCDA. Building better lines of communication between our organizations plays an integral part in CMCA meeting its objectives.
